What is a yarn club?
We will send you a box in March, May, July and September. The boxes contain an exquisite yarn (some exclusively dyed for us) and a pattern and a story and a gift (an exclusive project bag, a stitch marker, chocolate…who knows).
Our projects for 2019 are inspired by the mad science of chemistry. We are working with a variety of designers (including Ann Weaver) and yarn companies to provide you with projects that will delight and inspire you.
The projects are all accessories aimed at adventurous beginners: easy enough for those who don’t have a lot of experience, but interesting enough for those who do.
Mad Science 2018 July Project
Here is a glimpse of the projects we did for Mad Science 2018:
- March: We eased into the beginning of the Mad Science year with the Echo Cowl. We worked with Feederbrook Farm to design an exclusive colorway that resulted in everyone’s project looking just a little different.
- May:The yarn for this project was was dyed by Ewetopia, on a small farm located in southwest Wisconsin. The theme was refracted waves, so we included a mini flashlight for a simple science experiment and to add to your knitting notions bag.
- July: Ann Weaver worked with Neighborhood Fiber Co to bring us Sagittarius made with yarn dyed exclusively for us.
- September: We celebrated one of our favorite scientists Marie Curie with mittens, glow in the dark stitch markers and a custom made project bag.
Of course, our projects are just suggestions. You can do anything you like with your yarn club yarn.
