Learn:
knitting on double pointed needles, heal flap, turning the heel, picking up stitches, kitchener’s stitch
Materials:
Churchmouse sock pattern, 2 skeins Pediboo(or equivalent DK yarn), two sets of size 3 DPNs (so you can have two socks going at once). If you are very comfortable with DPNs you can use 100 grams of sock yarn and size 1 or 2 DPNs

Faberge Shawl

This shawl is knit from the bottom up, with rows getting shorter as you progress. It is a great pattern for those that get bored with projects easily. At the beginning when the rows are longer, there is a lot to keep your interest, pleats, horizontal braid, and beading.

Learn: How to add beads while knitting (not pre-strung) and horizontal braid.

Materials: Fingering weight yarn for Kerchief – 200 yards of ruffle/overlay color, 220 yards of background color or for the Shawl – 290 yards of ruffle/overlay color, 340 yards of background color.  Size 6/0 beads: 174 for the kerchief, 312 for the shawl, plus 9 for the swatch (Beads should be similar in color to your ruffle).  Tiny crochet hook or dental floss to add beads.  Size 5 and 6 circular needle – 32″ or 40″.  Digital pattern available for purchase at String Theory.

Homework: Please come to first class with rows 1-11 of swatch completed.

A more advanced sock for those who have made at least one sock before. Karen is enchanted by these socks made on straight needles – no circulars or double point needles to fiddle with and no seaming! The sock starts with a ruffled edge that has a lacey appearance in contrasting yarn (contrast yarn supplied by instructor), and each edge has an easy gorgeous cable. Then you add twisted stitches that create a fancy eyelet pattern and finish it off a wedge toe that carries the cable all the way to the end. Love!

Our Registration Policy:

All classes are held at String Theory Yarn Co. Most classes are limited to 8 people in order to ensure that everyone gets individual attention. Payment for each class is due at registration. If String Theory cancels the class for any reason, we will refund your registration fee.  If you cancel at least one week prior to your scheduled class, you will receive a store credit for your registration fee. If you cancel less than a week prior to the class, you will receive store credit only if we are able to fill your spot.  Unfortunately, we are unable to provide make-ups.
